What is the difference between Verification and Identification?

Verification – A one-to-one comparison (1:1) of a biometric for a person for whom you wish to verify.


Identification – A one-to-many comparison (1:N) of a biometric against a biometric database in attempt to identify an unknown individual.

What is Iris Recognition?

A.

Iris recognition is a method of identifying people based on unique patterns within the ring-shaped region surrounding the pupil of the eye.

Is Retina Recognition the same as Iris Recognition?

A.

No. Retina recognition technology captures and analyzes the patterns of blood vessels on the thin nerve on the back of the eyeball that processes light entering through the pupil.

Is Iris Recognition Safe?

A.

Yes. Iris Recognition is very safe. It is a non intrusive process. In fact, it's just a picture taken with a special high resolution digital camera.
